JACKSON WANG MADE PARIS COME ALIVE JUST LIKE MAGIC

The all rounder artist Jackson Wang, -Magic Man himself-, enchanted Paris with an inspiring storytelling and visually gorgeous show.

A show that is based on taking the audience into a journey; Jackson's journey. A show that allows him to express his inner feelings and thoughts throughout his artistry. An opportunity to show his true self and help others find themselves in the process. A source of inspiration and magic. That's what Magic Man is.

Inma Exma had the opportunity to attend and cover Jackson Wang's Magic Man show in Paris thanks to Team Wang and AEG Presents, I want to express my gratitude to them for the invitation and for being so incredibly kind.

Prior to the day of the concert, the magic could already be felt in Paris. In a bubble tea shop near Notre-Dame, Jackson's songs were playing one right after the other, it felt as if the city and everyone on it was getting ready to welcome Magic Man.

Back to the venue where GOT7 held their first concert in Paris during their Eyes On You tour almost 5 years ago, Jackson Wang's fans gathered to see Magic Man one day before the group's anniversary. 

The excitement could be felt in the atmosphere as soon as entering the Zénith. Wearing outfits specially planned for the occasion and Team Wang merch with absolute happiness in their faces, the audience was highly anticipating Jackson's appearance on stage. While waiting for that moment, the audience didn't hesitate to welcome Laurie -the opening act- as soon as she appeared on stage, they gave her their love and support from beginning to end.

At the promised time, Jackson Wang made his appearance on stage and the magical show began. Formed by pieces of Jackson himself that create a puzzle turned into a perfect painting, Magic Man is one of the most incredible shows I've ever witnessed. A big party that welcomes and includes everyone, as well as a rollercoaster of emotions that makes you levitate.

Beyond being just a show, Magic Man is a journey through Jackson's life and career. An open-hearted conversation with the audience where the artist expresses his hardships and struggles through his artistry, with the aim of helping others to find their true selves as he did.

One would think that exposing your darkest times and the raw version of yourself in a show for everyone to see is dangerous, but that's how much Jackson trusts his fans and that's how big his desire to be able to help people who are going through the same thing as him is.

From stage setup, performance to storytelling, everything is well thought out and perfectly executed it. The audience was able to enjoy the artist's hit songs '100 Ways', 'Bullet To The Heart', 'Drive You Home', 'LMLY', 'Blow', and more. 

Jackson always tries to give back the love he receives, and during this tour, he chooses two lucky fans from the audience each concert to bring on stage with him. The artist serenades one of the fans with 'I love you 3000' and gives her a rose. Another lucky fan gets to witness Jackson’s sexy performance of ‘The Moment’ along with his dancers before the artist proceeds to sing 'Dead' to them.

The artist's surprises and gifts to his audience do not end there. During the encore, he personally invites fans to join him and his team on stage. When he says he loves and cares about his audience as his friends, as his family, as his loved ones, he means it.

Jackson's words during the third and final VCR hit close home, so much that I couldn't help but cry. Hence, I wanted to share them here, in hopes that they will inspire you and help you as much as they inspired and helped me:

I've always wanted my own solo concert. This is my first one. The first ever full album I've ever done. For the first time I really took my time getting to know more and more about myself. Who am I to myself. Finding my true self. The more I get to know about myself, I realized a lot of the things that used to matter to me don't matter to me now. I realized that the negativities are nothing but "noise". I realized the reason I go through all the darkest lows is because I didn't care enough about myself. I didn't give myself a chance to understand "me". I was always too busy outputting than receiving. I didn't have anyone to connect, to share, to understand and to love. I felt "empty", feeling hard to move in any direction. I started to not even know what "FEELINGS" are. What "LOVE" is anymore. I was in a loop cycle of repetitive things. Everyday. Every month. Every year. I never had any time to figure out the question: what about...ME? What about the things "I" wanna do? The things "I" really care about. And what's the meaning of "MY" life. What is happiness to "ME". I went through all the darkest moments in my life in this industry. And I believe everyone here tonight is in all different industries, all the fields that you guys are in it's still the same society in the same world. We are the same. We are all in this together as humans. And we all go through tragedy, a lot of it. And until you're willing to know yourself and understand yourself better. That's a process that we all go through. MAGIC MAN. The word - the key word. The abstract describing anybody going through their peaks and valleys, all the obstacles, all the darkest moments in their life. how do they evolve it into their ultimate form of themselves, that's Magic Man and that's magic. So be you at least for once, for yourself. Trust yourself. Never rely on anybody but yourself. Because it's your dream, not anyone else. Trust your gut feeling because I know it's always right. And as all the people here tonight coming to see me. Supporting me. I'm so grateful. I'm so happy that in my life I get to meet you guys. I love you all and I care about you all. I care about you as my audience, as my friends, as my family, as my loved ones. Even after I'm gone. And all I hope is that everybody here can find your true self and be somebody you are proud of in your own fields. As an artist I would do anything to entertain you, to put a smile on your face when you go through the same thing. So always know that, always remember, I'm always here for you. I love you. I believe you. And I support you. Whenever you're lost again, always remember: It's okay to say you're not okay. And always know yourself. That's how you can make your own history. Always remember that. Find your magic.

El polifacético artista Jackson Wang, -el mismo Magic Man-, encantó a París con una narración inspiradora y un espectáculo visualmente hermoso. 

Un espectáculo que se basa en llevar al espectador a un viaje; el viaje de Jackson. Un espectáculo que le permite expresar sus sentimientos y pensamientos internos a través de su arte. Una oportunidad para mostrar su verdadero yo y ayudar a otros a encontrarse a sí mismos en el proceso. Una fuente de inspiración y magia. Eso es Magic Man. 

Inma Exma tuvo la oportunidad de asistir y cubrir el concierto de Jackson Wang Magic Man en París gracias a Team Wang y AEG, quiero expresarles mi agradecimiento por la invitación y por ser tan amables.

Previo al día del concierto, la magia ya se podía sentir en París. En un bubble tea cerca de Notre-Dame, las canciones de Jackson sonaban una tras otra, parecía la ciudad y todos en ella se preparaban para dar la bienvenida a Magic Man.

De regreso al lugar donde GOT7 realizó su primer concierto en París durante su gira Eyes On You hace casi 5 años, los fans de Jackson Wang se reunieron para ver a Magic Man un día antes del aniversario del grupo. 

La emoción se sentía en el ambiente nada más entrar a Zénith. Vistiendo outfits especialmente planeados para la ocasión y merchandising de Team Wang con absoluta felicidad en sus rostros, la audiencia esperaba con ansias la aparición de Jackson en el escenario. Mientras esperaban ese momento, el público no dudó en darle la bienvenida a Laurie -la telonera-, en cuanto apareció en el escenario le brindaron su cariño y apoyo desde principio a fin.

A la hora prometida, Jackson Wang hizo su aparición en el escenario y comenzó el mágico espectáculo. Formado por piezas del propio Jackson que crean un rompecabezas convertido en una pintura perfecta, Magic Man es uno de los espectáculos más increíbles que he presenciado. Una gran fiesta que acoge e incluye a todos, además de una montaña rusa de emociones que te hace levitar.

Más allá de ser solo un espectáculo, Magic Man es un viaje a través de la vida y la carrera de Jackson. Una conversación sincera con la audiencia donde el artista expresa sus dificultades y luchas a través de su arte, con el objetivo de ayudar a otros a encontrar su verdadero yo como él lo hizo.

Uno pensaría que exponer tus momentos más oscuros y la versión más pura y real de ti mismo en un show para que todos lo vean es peligroso, pero así de mucho Jackson confía en sus fans, y así de grande es su deseo de poder ayudar a las personas que están pasando por lo mismo que él.

Desde la configuración del escenario, la actuación hasta la narración, todo está perfectamente pensado y ejecutado. El público pudo disfrutar de los éxitos del artista '100 Ways', 'Bullet To The Heart', 'Drive You Home', 'LMLY', 'Blow' y más.

Jackson siempre trata de devolver el amor que recibe, y durante esta gira, en cada concierto elige a dos afortunadas fans para subir al escenario con él. El artista canta 'I love you 3000' a una de las fans elegidas y le regala una rosa. Otra afortunada fan puede presenciar el baile sexy de Jackson y sus bailarines durante la actuación de 'The Moment' antes de que el artista proceda a cantarle 'Dead'.

Las sorpresas y regalos del artista a su público no acaban ahí. Durante el bis, Jackson invita personalmente a algunos fans a subir con él y su equipo al escenario. Cuando él dice que ama y se preocupa por su público como sus amigos, su familia, sus seres queridos, lo dice en serio y así lo demuestra.

Las palabras de Jackson durante el tercer y último VCR me llegaron de cerca, tanto que no pude evitar llorar. Por lo tanto, quería compartirlo aquí, con la esperanza de que os inspiren y ayuden tanto como me inspiraron y ayudaron a mí:

Siempre he querido tener mi propio concierto en solitario. Este es el primero. El primer álbum completo que he hecho. Por primera vez realmente me he tomado mi tiempo para conocerme más y más. ¿Quién soy yo para mí mismo? Encontrar mi verdadero yo. Cuanto más me conozco a mí mismo, me doy cuenta de que muchas de las cosas que antes me importaban ya no me importan. Me di cuenta de que las negatividades no son más que "ruido". Me di cuenta de que la razón por la que paso por todos los peores momentos es porque no me preocupo lo suficiente por mí mismo. No me di la oportunidad de entenderme a "mí". Siempre estaba demasiado ocupado emitiendo en vez de recibiendo. No tenía a nadie con quien conectar, compartir, comprender, nadie a quien amar. Me sentí "vacío", sentí que me era difícil moverme en cualquier dirección. Empecé a ni siquiera saber qué son los "SENTIMIENTOS". Lo que  es el "AMOR". Estaba en un bucle de cosas repetitivas. Cada día. Cada mes. Cada año. Nunca tuve tiempo de descifrar la pregunta: ¿qué hay de....MÍ? ¿Qué pasa con las cosas que "yo" quiero hacer? Las cosas que a "mí" realmente me importan. Y cuál es el significado de "MI" vida. Qué es la felicidad para "MÍ". Pasé por todos los momentos más oscuros de mi vida en esta industria. Y creo que todos aquí esta noche están en diferentes industrias, todos los sectores en los que vosotros estáis, siguen siendo la misma sociedad en el mismo mundo. Somos lo mismo. Estamos todos juntos en esto como humanos. Y todos pasamos por tragedias, muchas tragedias. Y hasta que estés dispuesto a conocerte a ti mismo y comprenderte mejor. Ese es un proceso por el que todos pasamos. MAGIC MAN. La palabra - la palabra clave. El resumen que describe a cualquiera que atraviesa sus altos y bajos, todos los obstáculos, todos los momentos más oscuros de su vida, cómo evolucionan hacia su forma definitiva de sí mismos, eso es Magic Man y eso es magia. Así que sé tú al menos por una vez, por ti mismo. Confia en ti mismo. Nunca confíes en nadie más que en ti mismo. Porque es tu sueño, y el de nadie más. Confía en tu instinto porque sé que siempre tiene razón. Y como toda la gente aquí esta noche que viene a verme. Apoyándome. Estoy muy agradecido. Estoy tan feliz de haberos conocido en mi vida. Os amo a todos y me preocupo por todos vosotros. Me preocupo por vosotros como mi audiencia, como mis amigos, como mi familia, como mis seres queridos. Incluso después de que me haya ido. Y todo lo que espero es que todos aquí podáis encontrar vuestro verdadero yo y ser alguien de quien os sintáis orgullosos en vuestros propios ámbitos. Como artista haría cualquier cosa para entreteneros, para poneros una sonrisa en la cara cuando paséis por lo mismo. Así que siempre recordad esto, siempre recordad que siempre estaré aquí para vosotros. Te amo. Te creo. Y te apoyo. Cada vez que te pierdas de nuevo, recuerda siempre: está bien decir que no estás bien. Y siempre conócete a ti mismo. Así es como puedes hacer tu propia historia. Siempre recuerda eso. Encuentra tu magia.

Sin duda alguna, una experiencia inolvidable para todos los que asistieron al espectáculo, Magic Man y su mensaje quedarán grabados para siempre en la mente y el corazón de todos. Hasta la próxima, recuerda: Encuentra tu magia.
